A high-speed, high-depth pre-interleaver in the proposed symbol pre-interleaving Bit MUX (PBM) was implemented to mitigate decision feedback equalizer (DFE) error propagation in a 400 G Ethernet Serializer–Deserializer (SerDes) interface. Based on the SerDes interface link architecture with 5-tap DFE, the performance of the PBM under DFE error propagation was simulated theoretically, which could obtain an interleaving gain of 0.35 dB. In the pre-interleaver, in order to significantly increase the transmission rate while keeping the larger interleaving depth, characteristic polynomial parallelization with the logic expansion method and register-based memory with interleaving technology were adopted. Finally, the pre-interleaver was fabricated with 65 nm CMOS technology, with a total area of 0.615 mm2, including the I/O pad. The measurement results show that the horizontal opening degree of the output signal can reach 0.925 UI at the data rate of 41.6 Gb/s. The total power consumption is 38.52 mW at the supply voltage of 1.2 V and frequency of 1.3 GHz....
We report a Nd:YLF laser, side-pumped by a diode-stack at 797 nm with 1545 W peak power, resulting in triple-wavelength emission at 1314 nm, 1053 nm, and 1047 nm. The resonator is capable of emitting each wavelength separately as well as any combination of them simply by cavity alignment. When operating at 1314 nm, the laser reached record optical-to-optical efficiency of 49%, with a slope efficiency of 53%....
We propose a platform for observing the Josephson diode effect: the Andreev molecule. This nonlocal electronic state is hosted in circuits made of two closely spaced Josephson junctions, through the hybridization of the Andreev states. The Josephson diode effect occurs at the level of one individual junction while the other one generates the required time-reversal and spatial-inversion symmetry breaking. We present a microscopic description of this phenomenon based on fermionic Andreev states, focusing on single channels in the short limit, and we compute both supercurrent and energy spectra. We demonstrate that the diode efficiency can be tuned by magnetic flux and the junctions’ transmissions and can reach 45%. Going further, by analyzing the Andreev spectra, we demonstrate the key role played by the continuum, which consists of leaky Andreev states and is largely responsible for the critical current asymmetry. On top of proposing an experimentally accessible platform, this work elucidates the microscopic origin of the Josephson diode effect at the level of the fermionic Andreev states....
In this work, the degradation of the random telegraph noise (RTN) and the threshold voltage (Vt) shift of an 8.3Mpixel stacked CMOS image sensor (CIS) under hot carrier injection (HCI) stress are investigated. We report for the first time the significant statistical differences between these two device aging phenomena. The Vt shift is relatively uniform among all the devices and gradually evolves over time. By contrast, the RTN degradation is evidently abrupt and random in nature and only happens to a small percentage of devices. The generation of new RTN traps by HCI during times of stress is demonstrated both statistically and on the individual device level. An improved method is developed to identify RTN devices with degenerate amplitude histograms....
This research paper systematically reviewed and investigated single diode model and double diode model of a solar photovoltaic systems in terms of accuracy, differences under major unknown PV parameters, different optimization and fabrication. This research paper reviewed the differences and the similarities between the single diode model and double diode model. From the review, it was clear that single diode model has less computation time and number of unknown parameters compared to double diode model. The double diode model on its own superiority is more accurate under solar shading condition effect than single diode model but single diode model performs better under high insolation levels. None of the two models is superior than the other but the solar photovoltaic modelers/installers should bear the solar irradiance of the environment before installation....
